Stenhousemuir travel to Links Park on Saturday afternoon as they take on Montrose in William Hill League One, with the match kicking off at 3pm.
The Warriors head north on the back of a 2-0 victory over Annan Athletic in the KDM Evolution Trophy. Despite Storm Bram battering Ochilview with relentless wind and rain, Ross Taylor’s well-taken double ensured Stenny safely progressed to the next round, where a derby with Stirling Albion awaits.
Montrose were due to face Spartans at Links Park in midweek, but the fixture fell victim to Storm Bram and will be rearranged for a later date.
In league action, Stenhousemuir’s most recent outing saw them play out a competitive 0-0 draw with Hamilton Academical at Ochilview. Gary Naysmith’s side produced a strong performance throughout and were unfortunate not to take all three points.
Montrose enter the fixture in good form following a 3-0 win away to Kelty Hearts at New Central Park. Goals from Blair Lyons, a Tam O’Ware own goal, and Callum Sandilands secured the victory, with the margin of victory only kept down by Graham Webster missing a late penalty.
The sides last met in October, when Stenny ran out 3-1 winners at Ochilview. Scott McGill opened the scoring with a superb 25-yard strike, before Matty Aitken doubled the lead just before the interval. Although Webster pulled one back for Montrose from the penalty spot, Euan O’Reilly restored the two-goal cushion to seal a deserved three points for the Warriors.
