WarriorsTV spoke with Gary Naysmith ahead of the game. Gary mentioned that there were a few injuries following the Forfar match at the weekend so how has he found training this week?

“The lads had a good training session on Tuesday. We had to watch one or two because we picked up a few knocks at the weekend. So one or two missed the training session, one or two might be doubtful for Saturday and one or two that were just being cautious with. 

We’ve got a better idea tonight (Thursday) about what we’ve got available for Saturday and obviously want to try and have everybody available. I’ve not got the biggest of squads but as I say I’ll have a better indication after training tonight about who is and isn’t available.”

Following the game on Saturday, Gary mentioned that Rovers will be a tough opponent, with their league position perhaps not showing a true reflection on the side that they are. Having had a few days to digest the Forfar match and prepare for Saturday, how is he feeling heading into the match?

“I’ve played against Albion Rovers at all of my clubs that I’ve been a manager at and I’ve never had an easy game. They are well organised, they are fit. Just a few weeks ago, they had back to back 4-0 victories in the league which shows that on their day they are capable of hurting any opposition. 

We have to treat them with the respect that they deserve and we will do that and the players will get the normal analysis rundown on Albion Rovers. We’ll do everything that we normally do, as we’re more focused on what we can do. The lads should be in a good place just now as we’re starting to get a bit of momentum and a bit of belief. What we need to do is maintain that now and if we take our eye of the ball, because we’re playing a team that’s below us in the league, the hard work we’ve done over the last four or five games goes to waste.

We need to make sure that we are focused and treat Albion with the respect that they deserve but we need to make sure we’re thinking about ourselves and how we can go and impose ourselves on the game.”

Conor Brennan is the only confirmed absentee for Saturday’s game.
