Hodge selected as Terje Eriksen Scholar

Warriors youngster Jack Hodge becomes the clubs second scholar in memory of Terje Eriksen

The club is pleased to name Jack Hodge as this seasons recipient of the Terje Eriksen Scholarship. Jack becomes the clubs second scholar following on from Tiwi Daramola in season 2019-20.

The fund was set up in 2019 in memory of Terje Eriksen, a lifelong Stenhousemuir fan from Norway, who played a leading role within the clubs Norwegian Supporters Club. He travelled over 56 times to watch his beloved Warriors and was given Honorary President status by the club. In 2019 the club renamed its viewing gallery ‘The Terje Eriksen Suite’ in recognition of Terje, a true Warrior.

The scholarship fund was established by Terje’s brother Ivar with the aim to ‘develop and educate young players for Stenhousemuir FC’ something Terje was particularly passionate about. It provides one young player per season with the opportunity to sign as a professional with the club. It is hoped the fund will give young players the chance to kick off their professional careers whilst helping the club achieve on-field success to inspire its community.

Jack, born in 2001 in Brazil was part of the Forth Valley Football Academy, the Academy set up by the Scottish FA as a partnership between Stenhousemuir FC and Falkirk FC. Before joining The Warriors in September 2020 Jack was signed with Scottish Premiership side Hibernian FC; the Edinburgh based club recently signed a Strategic Partnership with Stenhousemuir. He spent last season on loan with Civil Service Strollers in the Scottish Lowland League before joining the club at the start of the season.

Jack has made 8 appearances so far for Stenhousemuir, becoming a regular starter and demonstrating his versatility in a number of positions.

We are very pleased with the clubs decision to name Jack Hodge as this year’s Scholar in the name of my brother Terje Eriksen. Stenhousemuir FC took a huge part in his life and heart and we all are now proud to be Warriors abroad. Good luck to Jack,  we are looking forward to seeing him in action at Ochilview when times change and we are back to normal.’

‘Stenhousemuir FC is proud to have a Norwegian Supporters Club, a group of supporters who hold an important place in the clubs history and who will play a big part in its future. It was vitally important that Terje’s legacy at the club lived on and I am sure we have achieved this through the renaming of a hospitality suite and through this fantastic scholarship programme. We once again extend our thanks to Ivar and his family and we wish Jack the very best for his time at the club and his for his career’

Terje was a much loved friend of many at Ochilview and is sadly missed. His legacy however lives on.
