Stenhousemuir make the trip to the Rock tomorrow as they take on Dumbarton in the cinch league two. The Warriors can make history and win their first ever league title. A Stenhousemuir win and Peterhead to draw or loss will create history for the football club.

The Warriors will want to build on their 0-0 draw with Peterhead at Ochilview last weekend, it was a match where both teams canceled each other out and chances were very few and far between. Matty Yates had a header go wide late on, and Keiran Shanks forced Darren Jamieson into a good stop for the visitors.

Assistant manager, Brown Ferguson previewed tomorrow’s match saying “We’re at the stage now, where any game going forward with a win, we can just about reach what we’re aiming for, every game going forward should be exciting. Dumbarton have had a couple of good wins and have picked up form recently, so it won’t be an easy match.”

Jordan Kirkpatrick also previewed the match saying, “We’ll prepare as normal, well try our best to get the points, we’ll train hard during the week and go into Saturday hoping to get the three points.”

Dumbarton are off the back of two good victories, a 6-2 victory away at The Spartans and a 2-0 home win against Bonnyrigg and come into the match on better form than The Warriors.

The sides have met three times this season, the first came back in August where Dumbarton blew Stenhousemuir away scoring four goals without reply and a Matty Aitken brace in the second half was not enough to get The Warriors back into the match.

The sides then met under the Rock in December where Stenhousemuir won 1-0 thanks to a late James Berry goal in what was a cagey affair.

Then the sides returned to Ochilview in February where Stenhousemuir ran out 1-0 victors again, this time thanks to Ross Taylor’s first goal for the club.

The Sons edge the head-to-head record with 70 wins to Stenhousemuir’s 64. Dumbarton also have considerably more wins at the Dumbarton Football Stadium with 45 to The Warriors 26.

Castle Rock dominates the Dumbarton skyline, and with the ground sitting just beneath, it is fairly easy to find your bearings. Follow the A814 into Dumbarton and just after you go under a railway bridge, you will see a sign pointing left for Dumbarton Castle. Turn left here (Victoria Street) and the ground is down the bottom of this road on the right. There is a fair sized car park at the ground.

Dumbarton East Railway Station is around a ten minute walk from the ground. As you come out the station turn right along the main street, left into Victoria Street and the ground is down the bottom of this road on the right.
