  • Match Preview | vs Forfar Athletic

Gary Naysmith’s men travel to Angus to take on Forfar away from home at Station Park tomorrow for our 10th league match of the season.

The Warriors will be hoping for a much-improved performance after their disappointing Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Brora Rangers at Ochilview last Saturday. The gaffer previewed tomorrow’s game by saying “We need to focus on the league. We need to take Saturday on the chin, but we need to work hard on Tuesday and Thursday before we travel to Forfar which we know will be a tough game.

Club captain, Gregor Buchannan also previewed Saturday’s encounter. He said “We have the chance to bounce back from last week’s disappointment. We are at the right end of the table, and I fully believe this squad can get back to winning ways.”

Forfar beat Huntly 4-1 away from home in the Scottish cup last Saturday so they will be looking to build on that win. They face Tranent in the 3rd round of the Scottish Cup.

The Warriors played against Forfar on the opening game of the season where a 0-0 draw was played out. Action all came towards the end of the match, Warriors had a penalty shout and hit the post late on, Darren Jamieson was forced into two good saves late on.

We have a positive overall record against the Loons as we have played 204 times, Won 85, Drawn 41, Lost 78

Forfar have only won once this season; this came against Stranraer away from home on 23rd September where they won 2-0. Forfar currently sit in 8th place on 8 points.

The Warriors defence will have to be weary of Forfar’s Josh Skelly who is their top scorer for Forfar on 4 goals in all coemptions.

Ross Taylor and Jordan Kirkpatrick remain on the sidelines with injuries and Ross Meechan will miss out as he serves his one match suspension.

If you want to back the boys to Angus tomorrow, get all the match information below.
