Tomorrow’s match sees us enter the final full month of fixtures for the season as we make the trip to Dumbarton. There might be a bit of Deja Vu for this fixture, with the sides recently meeting at the C&G Systems stadium at the end of February, but we head back to the north west of Glasgow for the second time this season.

Both sides head into Saturday’s match following home matches against Forfar Athletic. The Warriors drew 1-1 with the Loons, whilst the Sons fell to defeat on Wednesday night.

The three meetings this season have saw Dumbarton win twice with the other other match finish as a draw.

As usual, we spoke with Gary Naysmith ahead of the match.

With the side being without a win in two games, is Saturday important in terms of bouncing back into form?

“I don’t think we need to bounce back as such. I think last week was a really good performance. I thought both teams played really well. Obviously, I want us to win every game but on the day neither team deserved to lose. We looked at the good things and we looked at things we could have done better and we need to try and take that into the game.

This is only my 12th game in charge in the league and it’s already the third time that we’ll have played them, so both teams know each other quite well. Obviously, Dumbarton have had a disappointing result during the week against Forfar, which shows that our point against Forfar wasn’t a bad result at all. They’ll be looking to bounce back as they won’t be wanting to lose anymore ground in the league title pursuit to Stirling. So, we’ll be expecting a difficult game but they’ll be expecting a difficult game as well. We need to make sure we go there with the right mindset and get a positive result.”

With the league season entering it’s final stages, 13 points separate 3rd from bottom. How important will it be to take a positive result from Saturday?

“I think every game from here on out is important that you try and pick something up. If you can get three points, it’s great, if you can’t get three, you’ve got to make sure you try and get one. With Forfar winning be drop down a place in the table. If you want to look positively, if we win our game in hand and we were playing that today and you win that, we’d be in the playoffs. So there’s still everything to play for. I think they’ll be a lot of twists and turns for every club between now and the end of the season.

It’s a very uncommon situation where every team in the league still have something to play for, so every game is going to mean something. There isn’t any games that teams will go into that mean nothing to them, so we’ll just look after ourselves and try and get in as many points as we can.”
