The Warriors are back at Ochilview for the first time in 3 weeks after back to back trips to Fife.

We welcome Annan Athletic to Stenhousemuir as we look to finally move into the playoffs positions. And with Edinburgh City hosting League Champions Kelty Hearts on Friday night, The Warriors will know what needs to be done.

It’s been a tough week for the boys after another late goal denied them a fair share of the points against tile winning Kelty Hearts. Warriors Tv caught up with Stephen Swift before Thursday night’s training session to ask him how the boys have been this week and how he feels about Saturday’s game.

“Naturally, at this time of the season, you need to wind it down a wee bit in regards to the amount of games that the players have played and they maybe don’t need as much fitness work, so we have wound it down slightly. However, we have added a few nuances in how we want to do thinks tactically. So hopefully we’re really well organised. We just need to make sure that we continue to play the way that we’ve been playing. We’ve had 2 defeats in 10, and both of them against Kelty with late goals, so we are on a decent run. We have 5 big cup finals to go and we need to make sure that we get as many points as possible.”

Tam Orr is looking a doubt after going off injured last week against Kelty and Peter Urminksy has again been recalled to St Mirren on an emergency 7 day loan to provide back up. The Warriors have an able back-up in Div Wilson, and Swifty was quick to sing the youngsters praises.

“Div’s a cracking young goalkeeper. You seen in the last two games where he came in against Stirling and Kelty and done fantastic. Since Peter’s come in, he’s given Div a lift and given him a real injection where he’s managed to really nail down the spot when he’s got it. So he’s been really unlucky to be back out, but it’s a credit to big Peter that he’s done so well. There’s no qualms, we bought Div in at the start of the season because we thought he was a good goalie and that’s not changed.”

This season has been kind for results against Annan with 3 wins out of 3 so far, and that’s a record that Stephen Swift and the boys will want to continue.

“Apart from Saturday, they’ve been on an incredible run and I think that’s credit to the fact that they’ve got some players back. The boy, Aidan Smith, and they’ve signed a great player in hooper from Kelty. So when you add that together, you see the strength that Annan have added to their artillery. So it’ll be even tougher this time, but we know how to set up against them and we know what their strengths are. So hopefully we can negate that, but also we need to make sure that we can pose a strength in our direction in regards to taking them the other way.”
