Welcome Warriors, to your latest edition of Inside Ochilview! We hope that you enjoyed your weekend off, whatever it is that you did instead of supporting the boys. Regardless, you’ll surely be glad to hear that the Warriors are back in action this weekend!
On Saturday we will make the short trip across Stirlingshire to take on local rivals Stirling Albion in our latest Cinch League 2 fixture.
Despite not playing last weekend, the Warriors will undoubtedly head into this one full of confidence having gone three matches unbeaten. A victory for the Warriors could see them climb as high as 6th in the table and potentially pull 9 points clear of bottom side Cowdenbeath.
As for our opponents, the Binos have gone 7 games without a loss in all competitions, a run which sees them sit 2nd in the table. Nothing less than a win will do for the Forthbank side as they look to keep up with runaway leaders Kelty Hearts.
Warriors supporters will be housed in the north (monument) end of the west stand. Pay at the gate is in operation with one turnstile open for cash payments and another for card. Adults cost £14, over 65’s cost £10, whereas students and under 17’s are £5 and under 12’s go free.
We can’t wait to see a proper Warriors backing on Saturday to cheer the boys onto a third consecutive win! See you all there!
Ladies latest
Last time out – Airdrie 3-0 Warriors
Back on Sunday the Warriors were on the road as they travelled to Armadale to face Airdrie Ladies in their latest SWF Championship South fixture.
Unfortunately for the ladies it proved to be a Halloween performance that will haunt them, as they put in a disappointing performance and went down 3-0.
Our hosts took the lead from a throw in after 12 minutes and went on to be the better team for the majority of the first half. Things then unravelled massively for the Warriors as two goals, one on 41 minutes and one on 45 minutes, saw the ladies trail 3-0 at the interval.
In the 49th minute the mountain that the Warriors were left having to climb got even tougher as Lauder was sent off after an interaction with the referee.
There were no more goals in the game as Airdrie held out for all 3 points. The Warriors remain 14th in the table and Airdrie remain in 16th, however now only 2 points behind the Warriors.
